Professor Esra Cengiz Yanardağ completed her Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2006. She then pursued her Doctoral studies in Restorative Dentistry at Near East University, where she defended her thesis in 2012, focusing on the effects of saliva contamination on micro-shear bond strength in composite resins applied with different adhesive systems.

Experience :

With a strong background in restorative dentistry, Prof. Yanardağ has held various academic positions. She began as a Research Assistant at Near East University in 2007 and later became a Lecturer (PhD) in 2012. She was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2013 and continued in that role until 2016. In the same year, she joined Mersin University, Faculty of Dentistry, as an Assistant Professor, where she was later promoted to Associate Professor in 2017 and ultimately to Professor in 2022 in the Department of Restorative Dentistry.

In addition to her academic contributions, she has also taken on administrative roles, serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Mersin University (2016, 2019), a Faculty Board Member (2017), and the Bologna Coordinator for the faculty (2017).

Research Focus :

Prof. Yanardağ’s research primarily revolves around adhesive dentistry, composite resin materials, bleaching agents, and restorative techniques.
